About This Game

Squat Ops pretends to be a story rich, single player tactical stealth game, but it’s secretly tricking you into working out.
Use your wits to remain undetected as you sneak deep into a terrorist occupied nuclear facility. Uncover intel to build relationships with your team, or use it to thwart enemy plans.
How the story ends will be up to you, and your butt.

Gameplay

Squat Ops uses machine learning tech to identify players’ movements through your PC’s device’s camera (or if running on OSX, with camera or simply by wearing your Airpods Pro / Airpods Max headphones ).

By performing a bodyweight squat, players move the protagonist, Hart, along a set path to a mission objective. Holding a squat allows Hart to deploy D.R.U.M camouflage, which cleverly disguises Hart as a regular looking barrel – the key to hiding in plain sight with patrolling guards.
Jumping in place triggers a dive action, letting Hart leap over obstacles or incapacitate unsuspecting enemies. This interactive mechanic creates an engaging, intuitive and immersive experience.

Levels

Each level in Squat Ops is a fitness puzzle, taking around 2-3 minutes to complete. Completing each level brings players closer to their overall mission while also contributing to their fitness goals. Every chapter is designed to burn about 30 – 50 calories in 5-10 minutes of play. A few chapters a day will be roughly the same as a bodyweight session at the gym.

Between levels you’ll have about a minute of story, presented in a video call style with your team members. They’re your eyes and ears in the sky, and will keep you updated on where you should be heading and will discuss mission updates with the protagonist. This is also where you’ll be able to take a rest before jumping back into the next level.

Deep branching story which hinge on relationships

Squat Ops has a captivating storyline where players are introduced to their secret mission and special ops team through the P-COM headset (in the aforementioned video call format). As the game progresses, players learn more about their team’s personalities and histories, creating a rich, engaging narrative experience.

Players’ actions and decisions impact their relationships with team members, affecting loyalty levels. Building strong loyalty with characters will unlock unique dialogue, and deeper insights into the characters’ backstories. Each chapter uncovers more about the mission, the team, and the world of Squat Ops.
